Psychostick - The Flesh Eating Rollerskate Holiday Joyride

I've been saying it for decades; we need new Christmas carols. Every time I hear the same songs during the holiday season I want to puncture my eardrums. I am not alone on this. The self proclaimed humor-core band Psychostick felt the need as well and released an eight track holiday album of brand new carols for the masses of misfits who sneer at holiday cheer. As with their last release, We Couldn't Think of a Title, the arrangements are blisteringly serious yet the vocals knife you in the gut with hilarity.
The disc starts with a demented interpretation of a holiday classic before it is destroyed utterly by the opening of "Holiday Hate," which punches with enough force to make you vomit cookies and milk. From there it is a sleigh ride from hell through tracks like "Jolly Old Sadist," "hXc vs m/," and the much appreciated "Jingle Bell Metal." My favorite tracks are "Red Snow," in which Rudolph finally gets his revenge, and "Happy Fucking New Year," which is, in my opinion, their sickest song to date. There is a need for Psychostick. Fans of heavy music tend to have a twisted sense of humor and this is a band that delivers. So this year, as I'm walking through a store and "It Came Upon the Midnight Clear" is assaulting me, I can breathe easy as "Crush your balls with a sleigh! Jingle Bells in your face!" goes through my head in retaliation.
